Klaus Ainedter

Born in Salzburg in 1962, Klaus Ainedter completed his art and design studies at the Salzburg University of Applied Sciences and then intensified his personal exploration of painting and graphics with Prof. Karl-Heinz Ströhle at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna.

This was followed by numerous personal training courses in various techniques such as watercolor, chalk, acrylic and mixed media with numerous artists. Klaus Ainedter now works as a lecturer for media and design in Salzburg and Vienna, as a course leader for painting at the adult education center for the arts and at the Wildkogel Academy.

The artist describes himself as a “spiritual cheerful nature” and draws his philosophy from humanist-Buddhist teachings. He has no role models, because role models would mean aping, which contradicts Klaus Ainedter's unintentional way of working. He bases his artistic work on aimlessness and sees color as an expression of inner states.

“I search for nothing, I am without intention. With expectation, the love of doing dies, withers and lets the result sink into insignificance. The truth of my works is only revealed to those who can understand art as an unintentional expression of the soul and who can let themselves fall into the play of colors and forms. Only those can see the endless depth of this expression.”

At the same time, the artist deals with socio-political issues in his work, which he incorporates into his paintings from his field of life coaching. Klaus Ainedter has dedicated himself to interpersonal help for young adults who want to find their way into professional life, for people who want to rethink their lives with a focus on counseling men in difficult phases of life.

The artist has lived and worked in Vienna since 2005, from where he has participated in international exhibitions since 2011. His main themes revolve around the individual and society, and he often finds the inspiration for his work in encounters and conversations with people.

“For me, art is a sharpening of the senses, an expression of myself in the contemplation of my deepest abysses. Meditation, introspection and turning my inner life inside out by making it visible in form and color”
